some general thoughts 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 9
Despite all that JF does to build this site I am disappointed by the lack of input by others. There are a small number of people who take the trouble to communicate but it seems that many people view but cannot be bothered to express an opinion or lack confidence to do so.

In an age which is one of open opportunity for such communication one must conclude that the capability to do so has declined.I am convinced that education has failed as regards the fundamentals of literacy and numeracy since, ,perhaps, the late Sixties.

........................

Cobbler is going back to paid work at age seventy three. He cannot afford to stay at home with the heating on and is also concerned that his daughter will not be able to pay the mortgage on her home. She has worked for the Min of Defence for many years but still earns a pittance despite having responsible posts. She should have joined the council and worked for community leisure services or the propaganda department.

................................

Saw a piece today in Star about a coroner remarking on the number of suicides in Telford.I wonder why? Do you realise that when I came to this backward place on 1st Jan 1975 there was some excitement. There was optimism about the glorious new town. There were the punks.Hoop was on the council. There was a cinema in Madeley Court school showing good films and there was political interest at grass root level.

THE SOCIALIST WORKERS,GOD BLESS, THEM SOLD THEIR NEWSHEET IN THE TOWN CENTRE AND PARKING WAS FREE. WE HAD DEBATES AND WENT ON DEMONSTRATIONS.(thats when I started "shouting" like this) THEN IT ALL CHANGED AND EXTREME LEFT WINGERS BECAME...WAIT FOR IT... HIGHLY PAID COMMUNITY LEISURE SERVICES OFFICERS.THEN THEY JOINED NEW LABOUR.

.............................

Tell me we are not in George Orwells world(George Ashcrofts maybe--joking George).Socialism is supposed to be the system that takes over our brains, even conditioning what we watch in private. But of course it is good old failing capitalism which is doing this.

Commercial T.V. ,which has dumbed down Great Britain, now wants to put adverts on the programs you are watching(I don't!).People have had the subversive cheek to go for a pee or to make what passes as love while the adverts are on. So a new device will enable the companies to flash up adverts on the programs you watch.

It will be like going to Tesco's for lunch but even worse. They assure viewers that the adverts will not be used at a climatic moment on screen(or on the sofa one hopes).Perhaps they will put the advert on by projecting it on a contributers bottom on say a gardeners program,or a nature program will feature vultures at a feast with an advert for Bernard Mathews turkeys appearing amongst the carnage.

...........................

Which brings me to Bernards latest adverts. Members of staff appear on the posters saying that they are proud that his turkeys are born and bred in Britain. The poor birds will presumably be also slaughtered and eaten in Britain. Is this Bernards comments on immigration?.

Thats it for now. Remember that this site ,and individuals who contribute to it, were not only campaigning against the councils follies but satirising them long before the Star got around to doing the same quite recently.Have you read the "Jewel in the Crown?" We have been a head of the game. Why not join us.Either way cobblers to the lot of you.

And now it's 2008.
The year of the computer,
you can now email your councillor for help, which is good as one of them live in Spain. For the people of St Georges you need to get a Face book account
2008 we see councillors expencess going up, they can make more on the council than factory work.
Education is going down hill like everthing.
Get Hoop back on the council.

Well said , Cobbler, glad you are not tongue tied very often ....

He's right though, it's no use just reading what others put on this site, nodding your head in agreement but doing nothing else about it.

Even if you only express your thoughts, no matter how crazy they may be (getting back to cobbler again...sorry mate)at least you have got it off your chest and others will read it, nod in agreement or shake their heads but if everyone speaks up for themselves, believe me it does get noticed.

Little snippets on here have gone further down the food chain and it does get people in other places thinking and talking, even those out there that seem to think that they are a cut above the rest of us...but we know the real truth dont we.....

Express your thoughts, no matter how crazy...it's every free persons right to do so.

Just got to put my straightjacket back on ,they've found out that I've escaped again...bye all!
