Campaigning 6 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 3
As always , i shall be campaigning well in advance , starting on Tuesday. I print all my own leaflets and posters (which does keep my costs down considerably).
Why Tuesday , you may ask , well for one , it gives me a chance to get as much printing done as is humanly possible. Secondly , tuesday is when the full list of nominations are announced.
This time round , i have decided to go for a letter , rather than a leaflet , i have also included my photo on my election litrature (and contrary to belief , no i didn't break any camera's in the process ).
Anyway , i shall be updating this within the next 24 hours , to let residents know which part of Muxton i shall be in on tuesday.

Some relevant information for the residents of Muxton are as follows -:

Last time for applying for a postal vote or for changing or cancelling an exsisting Postal or proxy vote is not later than 5pm on Wednesday 9th July 2008. This is the same time and date for applying to register to vote for this election.
Wednesday 16th July 2008 , is the timescale for Notice of Poll and Polling Stations.
Last time for applying for a proxy vote (non emergency) is also 5pm on Wednesday 16th July 2008.

AND OF COURSE POLLING DAY IS THURSDAY 24TH JULY 2008 (7am to 10pm)

Polling stations will be announced no later than Wednesday 16th July 2008

Well the first day of campaigning went extremely well , residents to be fair were hesitant to begin with , but were a lot more positive when i left them. I must admit i am feeling a damn lot more confident about the outcome (and my opponnents should be worried) as i have utmost faith in the electorate.

Unfortunately i have had to shelf our plans for tomorrow due to a family matter , but will be back on the beat on Thursday , where we will be in the fieldhouse road area (i shall of course update the approx time tomorrow evening , but it should be around 12 pm).

and i do hope that all those opponnents of TRUE INDEPENDENTS who check up as guests do find this interesting and informative (maybe they might learn a thing or two as to what the residents actually want )

Thanks Carol , hopefully at the next full borough election , we will have enough residents to spread our wings a bit and start covering other area's of the borough to stand as Independents (well that is the plan anyway)

4th of July 2008

INDEPENDENT DAY

Decided to go up to the Donnington Wood end of the Muxton Ward today to campaign and as always i was given a very warm welcome and response. This is where my strongest vote will be and certainly the area with the biggest issue's.
As during last years campaign in Donnington , residents want safe family area's within their community (play area's for their kids and some table's and benches for their parents to supervise from as well as enjoy maybe a picnic or refreshments) , as a family man myself i do feel extremely stongly about this also , but if the council refuse to designate land for social housing , what chance for our kids to play safely. Not while the great sale of public assets are never ending.
I also noticed some empty houses partly boarded up , WHY? when there is such a demand for housing. Are they allowing these properties to get delapitated and that gives them enough reason to sell it off.

Tuesday 8th July 2008

Campaigned down Muxton Lane , Sutherland Drive and surrounding area's , also leafletted Lytham Green (the conservative candidate's back yard).
At first look , i reckon my chances in this particular part will probably be low , but hey you never know , By-elections are full of surprises.
