Audit inspection Letter? 9 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 41
With the creation of ‘Transforming Telford’ there has been a change in the way
that economic development and support is delivered. Figures from October 2006
until March 2007 show that in that period there have been three new investments,
seven business expansions, 361 jobs created and 100 jobs safeguarded, through
74 company visits and 118 supported enquiries. Unemployment levels in the
borough have remained below the West Midlands average (2.6 per cent in
March 2007 compared with 3.4 per cent in the West Midlands). The Council also
scores well above average in the delivery of the Local Transport Plan.

That was a passage from the councils audit letter, I for one am not convinced by those figures in those dates.

Do you think further questions need asking?

I for one cannot recall TT doing anything in 2006 and whilst jobs mighthave created in that time, i am not convinced it was down to TT or Telford First as it was.

Howmany jobs went over the same period I wonder.
