I've just seen this: http://xrl.us/oqeka
on the BBC site.

I don't know about you, but if it was my 13 year old son, or he was a neighbour of mine, or I worked for the local council, I'd be proud to think that a 13 year old kid could be so "uncool" that he'd put up posters trying to find his lost cat.

Instead he gets threatened with an £80 fine!.

I suppose Canterbury council are like our's and would rather see kids attending council-funded graffiti workshops (yep, they run them around here!).

I expect it would have been OK if he'd submitted a risk assessment and had a CRB check.....

The same old crap, they handle it wrong, then apologise when challenged but will only do it again, sounds very much like telford.

A good article by Henry Porter in today's Observer about the proliferation of jobsworths telling us what to do:
http://xrl.us/oqita

QUOTE:
So let us start thinking logically about crime, punishment, policing and the cause of our problems. Let us end this punitive regime. Let us put policemen back on the beat, throw the likes of Jacqui and Hazel out of office and return all their spies and accredited jobsworths to the twilight of their power-crazed fantasy lives.
