Telford Tories In Turmoil 5 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
There is real trouble in the Tory House Tonight.

Not only are they under pressure with the Muxton bi-election, but there is chat of another possible Tory departure.

Then just to top it off, it is being said that there is a very real chance of a Tory Leadership challenge or even handover.

It is being discussed that Cllr Eric Carter backed by Cllr Bentley is going for the Tory Leadership.

Time will tell suppose.

Really?

And the source for this would be? Related to Labour?

Anyone heard the rumour about a Labour politician who STILL can't believe that their beloved party got kicked out of power in Telford and Wrekin and continues to this day going round telling people in their ward that they are a very important cabinet leader?

Yes, the source was a Labour personage.

But someother Tories are not too happy with certain members or an old Labour member who remains in a senior position.

The one strength Labour always seem to have is numbers, when one is out all are their, the Tories seem splintered and not cohesive.

See? I KNEW the source! How come? Because Wrekin Labour STILL cannot believe that they lost the council!

Like that sad idiot who goes round their ward telling people they are still head of a council department/cabinet member!

Sad, sad, sad!

But as one very senior Labour politician said: "Oh, &%$£! We blew it. The Tories could be in power for the full term of four years. Even longer!"

And this was last year, well before the current batch of Labour woes.

Labour are at each others throats! Question why did Alison Wedgewood suddenly decide that she no longer wanted to be an MP, after all?

Could it have anything to do with the fact that some senior Labour members were not told that she was illegally pretending to be a resident of a house owned by certain other senior Labour politicians in Leegomery? And got very cross when they found out? After all, a scandal at election time is the last thing they want!

I personally find it amazing that someone would still pretend to be something they are not, you think you've pretty much heard it all, then someone comes along and shows you there is still more to learn.

Unfortunately, that particular wanabee MP really did herself down on the outrageous claims of The Wrekin and then fell in the trap of trying to cover up a fib.

I'm still interested to hear who will try and fill her place and think it has really damaged their prospects.

John, could this be why Wrekin Labour has not been eager to get another candidate?

Unless they have been jumped on from London or regional HQ for their stupidity in helping back Alison's lie, her cover-up and then the lie that she was a resident in the constituency? And this will have reflected badly on David Wright. After all, he should have known Alison was lying when he had his name put on their joint leaflet...

As one Liebour councillor said to me on the night of the election count, "we knew we were going to lose, we just didn't realise it would be that bad".
