If you have not looked up the registered charities on google I suggest all interested should do so. Search 1074701 for this trust. You will see statements as to it's charitable purposes. Which by the way are written in condescending terms reminiscent of Victorian times. Then ask where the previous stock of fourteen thousand houses comes into this and what is the connection to social housing as an all inclusive service to the people.

I believe a slight of hand has been made so as to remove social housing from government accounts. This has led to so called non profiting companies registered as charities using the disabled and disadvantaged as a front while not adequately meeting their needs. You will have heard of the times in britain when the sick and crippled were used by beggar gangs to make money. It seems that one old tradition is still going strong.

AUSTIN MITCHELL HAS SAID THIS IS A COVER FOR THE BANKS TO MAKE MONEY AND FOR SENIOR STAFF AND BOARD APPOINTEES TO BE PAID CONSIDERABLE SUMS. THE FIRST QUESTION IN ANY SO CALLED SUMMIT MUST BE A FULL EXPLANATION BY DAVID WRIGHT. I TELL YOU THIS WILL NOT BE FORTHCOMING.

I believe that the Trusts could not remain solvent despite being given historical social hosing at a car boot price. The New labour government did this to a much greater extent than the Tories. It did not want long term housing costs on the public accounts despite the fiscal and social advantage of doing so.It was no surprise when the Trusts ran into trouble.

However, the P.F.I policy allows the facts to be hidden. Thus ,for example,in the Wrekin some four thousand homes have been sold on to anyone wishing to buy including landlords and speculators. More questions must be asked about this national scandal.

I will not attend a summit which allows David Wright to dodge the direct implications of new labours destruction of one of the most crucial planks of labours own historical manifesto

Extract from WHT Disability Equality Scheme at the following link:
http://www.wrekinhousingtrust.org.uk/publications/leaflets/disability_equality_scheme0708.pdf

In 2001 we owned 12,251 homes, which was about 19% of the total number of homes in the Borough.
At 31 March 2007, we owned 10,862 homes, or 16.8% of the total.

Our STATUS 2006 survey found that:

58% of respondents said someone in their household had a long-standing illness or disability 84% of these said it limited their activities 12% said their household included a wheelchair user

CORE Supported Housing New Lettings Summary Statistics April 2006 - March 2007 told us that 31% of new lettings included someone with a disability, of whom 4.7% used a wheelchair.

CORE General Needs New Lettings Summary Statistics April 2006 - March 2007 told us that 23.7% of new lettings included someone with a disability, of whom 4.7% used a wheelchair.

Since the introduction of our choice-based letting scheme (CYH) nine months ago, 24% of our new lets have had major adaptations at the property due to the tenant's disability.

215 customers are currently registered on CYH with an urgent need to move for medical reasons. This is 2.7% of the 8,078 CYH customers.

I doubt whether the real facts relating to the exact numbers in relation to amount of houses that have had specific adaptations will ever be known. One thing is for sure, there is no way the WHT can have spent very much on complete adaptations.

Cobbler does have a point, and one I have made mention of previously, we will never get the full facts.
