DONNINGTON BONFIRE

As previously mentioned elsewhere on this site , there is a very real threat of the community of Donnington losing this annual event.
For one , it is the only chance that neighbours get to mingle with one another in a relaxed and entertaining way. This is of course does not include the revenue it gives to local small businesses and of course a much needed community spirit injection for kids and big kids alike.
This is yet another example of our council trying to make money via the back door , just think about these points -:

1) If it moves to Town Park then everyone will have car park charges to add to their night out.

2) What plans do the council have for the current site? that they havn't yet divulged.

3) There is also the potential of an entrance fee if it moves to Town Park , for an event that has been free for decades.

Cheers for this John , i know that the resident that brought this to my attension has been busy getting signatures and the response has been very promising , obviously it has been rumoured , but decided on not taking a chance on this issue. It might have been a back door exercise.
